Weekly Rewind

The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.

This post is linked to Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Life and Blog

Life: Sorry for the radio silence, I’ve been slammed and exhausted from the first two weeks of school. The school year is off to a good start. I have a great bunch of students and am settling into the ole routine.

What I’m reading: I’m finishing up Gone for Good, which I’m enjoying and recently snagged I Speak Boy.

What I’m watching: I’m on the last season of Elementary, which I’m a bit sad about. It’s mostly on as background noise, but it’s been great background noise. I’ll seriously appreciate that there is zero romance between Holmes and Watson.

New books: Taking a couple weeks off means the books have piled up. I’m on my phone once again so will not be adding links.. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!

For Review

Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr

Three distinct timelines make up what is being called an ambitious novel.

Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward

I was so excited about this one and started it a couple months back. Despite reviews that said “keep reading when the cat starts narrating” it is exactly where it lost me lol. I might give it another shot.

As Good as Dead by Holly Jackson

I didn’t read the synopsis of this yet because I still need to read #2.

Time Will Tell by Barry Lyga

Four teens dig up their parent’s time capsule from the mid 80s and discover a murder confession. Which of their parents did the crime? It’s an intriguing premise.

Before We Disappear by Shaun David Hutchinson

The Prestige meets What If It’s Us. A historu novel of two magician assistants falling for each other.

Seven Visitations of Sydney Burgess by Andy Marino

A woman wakes after a brutal attack only to be told she murdered her attacker. She returns home to a home that now feels haunted. This is a horror novel…so it might be.

Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling

A historical novel about a woman who promises her new husband of convience never to visit his family manor, but then finds herself there in an emergency.

Crossbones by Kimberly Vale

After the death of the pirate king the trials for the new one begins. This cover.

Reprieve by James Han Mattson

A murder at a full contact haunted escape room.

Last Girl Ghosted by Lisa Unger

A woman meets a man online and starts to Fall for him only to have him ghost her. Then she finds out that there were others before her that he had done the same thing to, only now those women are missing.

Falling Girls by Hayley Kris her

A teen is shocked when her bff joins the cheerleading squad, and then a cheerleader dies.

Squad by Maggie Tokuda Hall

A graphic novel about a girl who is thrilled to find a group of girls who befriend her, only to discover they’re werewolves. So down

Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
