Weekly Rewind
The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.

My Life and Blog
Life: I’ve definitely been having a hard time keeping up lately. I’m just so tired all of the time. I love my job and am not at a point where I’m thinking of leaving the profession (like SO many teachers are), but I am very, very ready for this school year to be over and it is only January.
Positive things: The inauguration was pretty awesome. I love that a poet (and Bernie) stole the show. I signed up to take part in the NYC Midnight short story contest. It’s a contest that takes place in four rounds (but you have to “win” in your group to move on). They put everyone who signed up in groups and then gave a genre, topic, and character. The first round you have a week to write a story. I got my prompt this morning and am not AT ALL sure what I’m going to do with it lol, but it will be a good challenge. My only real goal for this year is to write more and this is a good push.
Blog and reading: Nothing this week on the blog…and haven’t been reading nearly as much as I’d like. I am still reading A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, which I hope to finish this weekend.
What I’m watching: We finally finished watching the fourth season of Fargo — so good.
New books: I have a handful of pretties to share with you today. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous and healthy weekends!
For Review
This follows a group of girls at an all-girls school after accusations of misconduct come up against member(s?) of the faculty.
A man who divorced his wife for her clone (technology she developed) ends up dead. This sounds pretty intriguing.
Amelia Unabridged by Ashley Schumacher
A girl obsessed with a series written by a reclusive author grieves the death of her friend.
Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
It must be so hard to be a teacher right now. I hope things get better. And the inauguration was nice. It felt good to have a sense of normalcy again.
A Good Girl’s Guide sounds great, I’ve had that one on my to read for a while…

I can’t begin to imagine what a teacher’s life must be these days. For us librarians, it’s not been a piece of cake, especially when we learn all measures regarding us… by watching the news. The eco wife is intriguing, I’m curious about it. Take care and have a great week 🙂

I can’t imagine being a teacher right now. I’ve watched my 5th graders classes and I think I would have lost my mind a week after video teaching. I think what you are doing is wonderful and I’m sure everyone of your students is excited for us all to return to some form of normal. I hope you have a great week.
