What I’m Excited For: New Releases for Reading and Viewing Week of 1.5.21

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

Lore by Alexandra Bracken

I’ve been trying really hard not to snag or request YA fantasy. It just isn’t my genre, but oh man this cover. It’s one of my favorites maybe of all time. I do love Greek mythology, so I’m hoping that I’ll jive with this one (I was able to snag the full arc – yay).

One of the Good Ones by Maika and Maritza Moulite

After her sister is killed at a social justice rally, a teen grapples with her new status as being “one of the good ones” and a poster child for police brutality. This sounds really powerful.

The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins

A modern retelling of Jane Eyre with a domestic thriller twist.

Influence by Sara Shepard

A twisty YA thriller about the world of influencers.

Monsters Among Us by Monica Rodden

“Fans of Sadie and You will be riveted by this compulsively readable new thriller about a survivor of dating violence who uses her newfound awareness of everyday evil to hunt for a killer.”

The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost Kiss by Amy Noelle Parks

This looks like a cute YA romance about an “awkward” girl and the love triangle she finds herself in.

Glimpsed by G.F. Miller

“This charming, sparkly rom-com follows a wish-granting teen forced to question if she’s really doing good—and if she has the power to make her own dreams come true.”

Streaming Releases

American Gods Season Three

So, I still need to watch season two, but I really liked the first season and definitely need to get back to this show. (Series/Starz/1.10)

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Anything you’re looking forward to?
