I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.
I’m a fan of both Commencement and Maine so am always excited when I see a new book from this author (although I still need to get on her last book). This follows a new mother adjusting to suburban life and the senior in college nanny she’s recently hired.
This novel follows the adult children and spouses of a powerful man whose lives start to fall apart after one of them gets a concussion and starts spilling secrets. I don’t read every book that Keyes puts out, but I usually enjoy them when I do.
A YA thriller about two teens whose lives are intertwined when one girl confesses to murder and the other is desperate to discover the truth.
This one sounds intriguing. Years ago, a woman’s family lived in a “haunted house” for only three weeks before fleeing. The father even wrote a book about the experience (Amityville Horror, anyone?). Now the grown daughter, who restores old homes, has inherited the house. I don’t really like haunted house novels, but the hook sounds interesting.
Set in 1950s Mexico, this historical novel is getting a ton of buzz and is being compared to Jane Eyre and Rebecca.
Nothing of note.
My love for the BSC knew no bounds when I was a preteen girl. The joy of buying the newest book whenever my family drove to the closest city to hit the mall was immeasurable. It makes me happy that it is still a popular series. (Netflix/7.3)
That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books, films, or shows?
