What I’m Excited For: Book, Movie, and Streaming (oh my!) Releases Week of 6.16.20

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

You Say It First by Katie Cotugno

This hate-to-love over the phone story sound right up my alley, and I love that cover. I was annoyed by the sudden change of this author’s book covers from the window photographed to illustrations (especially since the PB of a sequel was the first to make a change — I HATE it when series’s covers change halfway through), but this one is pretty cute.

28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand

This follows an affair that lasts for decades between a woman and a man whose wife is on the brink of being elected president. Despite owning most of this author’s books, I’ve only read a few. She is a bit hit or miss for me, but this one sounds pretty interesting.

I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman

This follows a mother and daughter as they make their way on a mapped-out college tour. I really enjoyed The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and am looking forward to reading this author’s next offering.

DVD Releases

Nothing of note

Streaming Releases

Perry Mason

I’m so excited for this new reiteration of Perry Mason. (HBO/6.21)

Love, Victor

A show about a teenage boy who falls for both a boy and a girl at his school. This takes place in the world of Love, Simon (or Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda), and I’m excited to watch. (Hulu/6.19)

The Politician Season 2

I actually need to watch the first season of this, but it is on my summer TBR. The book Election is one of my all-time favorites, and this sounds very similar. (Netflix/6.19)

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books, films, or shows?
