What I’m Excited For: Books, Streaming and Movies (oh my!) Week of 6.9.20

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

The Falling in Love Montage by Ciara Symth

I love the idea of two girls planning all of their dates around swoony rom-com cliches. This looks really fun, but the seriousness of one of the mothers having early onset dementia makes me think there will be a tinge of seriousness too.

Half Life by Lillian Clark

The premise of this book is intriguing. It follows a perfectionist teen who decides to sign up for a beta clone program only to watch her clone start living the life she wishes for herself.

Seven Clues to Home by Gae Polisner

This MG novel follows a girl following a birthday scavenger hunt set up by her now dead best friend.

You Can’t Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie

I don’t know a lot about this adult thriller, but I know that it follows a woman who once escaped a cult and that’s all I really need to know.

DVD Releases

The Hunt

Posting without comment beyond I’m intrigued by the controversy. I would never have seen this in theaters…and won’t spend money on it period, but it will eventually end up on one of the billion streaming services I currently get.

Streaming Releases

Artemis Fowl

I haven’t read this series, but I’ve heard great things. (6.12/Disney+)

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books, films, or shows?

  1. I’m really excited to get to The Falling in Love Montage, which will hopefully be within the next couple of days! I’m hoping it’s going to be a good mix of fluff and serious. I didn’t know Artemis Fowl was going straight to streaming. Not surprised!

  2. I’ve been tempted to watch The Hunt but so far, we’ve still clear. I would have never seen it in a theater either. I think Half Life sounds pretty good and I’ve been seeing it around a lot so it’s getting a lot of hype.
