Weekly Rewind

The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.

This post is linked to Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Life and Blog

Life: Summer is so close I can almost taste it. Only a couple more weeks of school and the weather is finally starting to get nice.

Blog and reading: This week I posted my regular look at book, streaming, and movie releases: What I’m Excited For. I’ve had a hard time reading all week. I’m enjoying both Again, Again and A Good Marriage, but I just cannot concentrate when I try to read. It sucks.

What I’m watching: I barely watched TV this week. I’m super excited for Catherine, which premiered last night on Hulu. It is a dark, comedic take on Catherine the Great with Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult. Both are awesome young actors and I need a funny take on history now that Miracle Workers: Dark Ages has bowed.

New books: I have a handful of pretties to share this week. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!

For Review

You Say It First by Katie Cotugno

This hate-to-love over the phone story sound right up my alley, and I love that cover. I was annoyed by the sudden change of this author’s book covers from the window photographed to illustrations (especially since the PB of a sequel was the first to make a change — I HATE it when series’s covers change halfway through), but this one is pretty cute.

28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand

This follows an affair that lasts for decades between a woman and a man whose wife is on the brink of being elected president. Despite owning most of this author’s books, I’ve only read a few. She is a bit hit or miss for me, but this one sounds pretty interesting.

I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman

This follows a mother and daughter as they make their way on a mapped-out college tour. I really enjoyed The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and am looking forward to reading this author’s next offering.

Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!

  1. We are heading into winter here so it will be a few moths before the warm weather returns. I’m looking forward to reading I Was Told It Would Get Easier too, especially as my daughter will be going to university next year.

Wishing you a great reading week

  2. I think I shall look for I Was Told It Would Get Easier and You Say It First. I’m reading The Unhoneymooners right now and it’s a silly, silly romcom that is taking my mind completely off the craziness of the world.
