What I’m Excited For: Book and Movie Releases Week of 5.5.20

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally

I love the idea of this book which checks in on a couple on the same day over the course of four years. It sounds super cute.

Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner

Weiner is an author I’ve followed for the last couple of decades, even though I have to admit that I haven’t read her last…few. This one follows a woman who is shocked when her ex-bff asks her to be a bridesmaid years after their falling out. I love books that follow complex friendships.

A Good Marriage by Kimberly McCreight

This is being billed as Big Little Lies meets Presumed Innocent that follows a man accused of killing his wife.

Keep It Together, Keiko Carter by Debbi Michiko Florence

Isn’t this cover adorable? This is a MG novel of a 7th grade dealing with friend and boy troubles.

The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton

The waitress at a medieval themed restaurant wants to ride a horse and joust, but can’t because it is strictly male-only position…until she takes her brother’s place. This looks adorable.

DVD Releases

The Rhythm Section

After discovering the plane crash that killed her family was intentional, a woman goes after those responsible.

Gretel & Hansel

This looks like fun version.

Streaming Releases

aa

I Know This Much is True

I remember reading…and not loving this book 100 years ago, but I don’t remember anything about it. I’ve debated rereading, but I think I’ll just watch the show. 5.10/HBO

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books, films, or shows?
