I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.
Holy moly, there’s an insane amount of goodness coming out this week!
The first adult novel by Veronica Roth about a group of young adults who were once the “chosen ones” who saved the world as teenagers and what their lives are like ten years later.
A girl starts a feminist book club after her school’s admin refuses to believe her accusations against her English teacher.
A boy and girl have spend several years of a forced shared vacation home playing pranks on each other, but one goes wrong and they get their families kicked out of the house, they join forces to get back at the home owner. This looks adorable.
Rebecca Stead writes great MG novels. This one is about a young girl on the verge having a new family life as her father’s upcoming wedding to another man with a daughter approaches.
A women’s book club in the 90s has to protect their neighborhood from the mysterious new stranger who happens to be a vampire. I’m so excited for this one.
A girl tries to figure out the truth behind her father’s car accident while also getting closer to a girl she would never normally be friends with who might know something about it.
A girl likes a guy. A guy likes a girl he only knows online. She is that girl but is afraid to tell him. This could be cute.
I really struggled with A Simple Favor, eventually putting it aside around 100 pages. This tale of shared obsession between a man’s girlfriend and his sister revolving around his niece sounds intriguing, though, so I’m giving the author a second shot.
A young woman’s parents are divorcing right when her best friend starts hooking up with the boy she also thought she would end up with, but then she meets a new dude. This sounds poignant but cute.
After their parents die in a tsunami, two sisters find themselves in a new city and drifting apart.
The last of her friends to lose her virginity, a girl makes plans to sleep with her best friend so she isn’t too inexperienced for her crush.
This looks like a trainwreck. I cannot get through a trailer…but maybe it will surprise me.
Although I was never a huge fan of this classic, I’ve heard great things about this version.
That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books or films?
