My Life and Blog
Life: I know things have been so crazy for a lot of people, and I hope if you’re reading this, that your world is still fairly peaceful and healthy. I’ve been on spring break, so even though it’s been a bit surreal, I’ve mostly spent my time at home, reading, watching tv, and napping.
Over the next few days, I need to start buckling down on switching my lesson plans over to an online format. My first distance learning day is Wed. We are teaching via Zoom like a lot of universities. It’ll be interesting.
Blog and reading: I didn’t get anything posted this week–it’s been a weird one. The one day I sat down to work WordPress wasn’t working, so I just went about my life. I finished He started It and Little Fires Everywhere. He Started It started to get a bit tediously twisty as it continued, but I liked it alright. Little Fires Everywhere was also alright. I think the show might be better — we’ll see. I’m currently rereading When You Read This. I also just started Foolish Hearts and Defending Jacob. I’ve been thinking about rereading the Jessica Darling series and will probably start Sloppy Firsts this weekend.
What I’m watching: I watched the newest Charlie’s Angels and really liked it. Kristen Stewart was honestly such a fun and interesting choice.

Seven Endless Forests by April Genevieve Tucholke
This is a “bloody” retelling of King Arthur. I love this cover and am excited for this one as well.
The Sweeney Sisters by Lian Dolan
After the death of their literary giant father, the three Sweeney sisters finds out that they have a fourth half sister.
The Popularity Code by Stephanie Faris
A MG Mean Girls about a girl who finds herself wrapped up in cyber bullying.

I hope your online teaching goes well! It’s such a challenging time for everyone. I am currently listening to Little Fires Everywhere and going to watch the show on Hulu. I also have a copy of Sweeney Sisters–sounds promising!

If you need any help with the technical part of distance teaching, let me know. I’ve been doing it for two weeks now, and think I’ve got it all figured out. Of course, my students are in high school, but we still use Zoom and Google Meet. I hope you’ll have a wonderful week ahead. Stay safe and healthy 🙂

You’re one of the few people I’ve run across that has read the Jessica Darling series. She was so relatable. And how could you not fall for Marcus Flutie? 🙂 It truly deserved more attention. And a reread of the series sounds awesome.
