Weekly Rewind

The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.

This post is linked to Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Life and Blog

Life: I’m going to keep the ramble on short today. For some reason I thought I typed this up last night and linked it to T.R. this morning…only to realize I just thought about typing it up. Lol. This first week back to work was pretty rough. I always revert to my natural nocturnal state whenever I have significant time off, so 6:30 came all too quickly Monday morning (and Tues…and Wed…). I’m starting to get back into the flow now, though, and it felt good to sleep until 8 today.

Blog and reading: This week I posted a look at new book and movie releases: What I’m Excited For and also a look at my 2020 Goals. I’m currently reading One of Us is Lying for the first time. I had an arc, but never got to it but recently bought a $2 copy from Goodwill.

What I’m watching: The Outsider tomorrow, y’all! So excited.

New books: I have a couple of pretties to share this week. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!

For Review

The Feminist Agenda of Jemima Kincaid by Kate Hattemer

A girl who is sick of the idea of a heteronormatively prom decides to take control.

The Upside of Falling by Alex Light

A fake relationship turns into more — this is an old storyline, but is usually pretty cute.

Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James

A girl goes to the same run down motel where her aunt disappeared 30 years prior.

Ten Days Gone by Beverly Long

A procedural about a serial killer who kills a woman every 10 days. It sounds interesting.

Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon

Frankly Beauty and the Beast retellings are a dime a dozen, but this one takes place at an international boarding school, which is interesting.

Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!

  1. Of Curses and Kisses sounds awesome! I like the look of that one.
I feel ya on the early mornings this week… They almost killed me! I’m another one who goes practically nocturnal during long breaks off.
Hope fully this week is easier!

  2. I definitely understand the getting back into the rhythm of waking up early again! I just finished Of Curses and Kisses this week unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. Curious about Sun Down Motel!
