The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.
My Life and Blog
Life: Thursday marked the end of the first trimester. I’ve spent the day (and will spend the rest of the weekend) finishing up my grading and writing the individual comments for each student for each class that I teach. My eyes hurt and I am bone tired…and it’s 7pm. Lol. To top it off, we are having our house appraised on Tuesday to hopefully refinance and it is a MESS. I’m trying to get it straightened up and, man, it’s all just a lot at the moment.
Blog and reading: I posted my regular look at new book and movie releases on Tuesday: What I’m Excited For. I didn’t get a whole lot of reading done this week, although I’m still enjoying The Gifted School and my reread of Scythe (I snagged the third book today but still haven’t read the second so I need to get on it). I also somewhat started Ninth House finally but am only on the second chapter.
What I’m watching: I have the first episode of A Discovery of Witches on right now. I snagged the first season DVD set from the library. I planned to read the books before watching the show, but I frankly just don’t have the time. Maybe I’ll get to them someday. I didn’t get to a lot of shows I wanted to this week either. I still need to watch last week’s Watchmen and Mrs. Fletcher and still need to watch the first episode of His Dark Materials.
New books: I have a small handful to share with you today. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!
A woman who knows her husband has two other wives cannot help but track down and befriend one of them — only to realize their husband is abusing the other woman. It sounds intriguing.
Murder and intrigue at an exclusive Virginian boarding school. Sounds like what I’m currently working on…so right up my alley.
What I snagged from the library
I’m kicking myself for not finishing my arc of this book before its release date, but I’m super excited for the audio version!
I can’t help but love books like this — full of quick and fun reviews about movies. Ebert had some great books.
Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
