I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater each week. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.
I’m so mad at myself for almost forgetting to post this. Today is one of the most amazing release days (if not THE) of 2019. I’d be remiss to not post something (even if it is HOURS late).
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
This is probably my most anticipated book of the year. Skull and Bones + witchery.
Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia
This is pretty fun so far with Ready Player One vibes (the book, not that travesty of a movie).
The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
This sounds like Dracula meets Jack the Ripper, which I’m here for.
Our Year in Love and Parties by Karen Hattrup
A love story that takes place at four different parties over the course of a year.
The Furies by Katie Lowe
A murder at an all-girl school + witches. This is basically the novel I’m currently working on, but I’m still excited.
In the Hall With the Knife by Diane Peterfreund
I’m curious how this novel based on the board game Clue shapes up. And it’s the first in a series!
The Athena Protocol by Shamim Sarif
Hereditary was creepy af, if a bit slow. This looks about the same.
An aging assassin finds himself being hunted by a younger clone of himself. This could definitely go either way.
That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books or films?
