Weekly Rewind
The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.
Throughout my student teaching semester I was using my weekend post as a way to let people know what’s going on in my life, so I decided to rename my weekend post because this feature is more personal than just what books I’ve received. Five (I can’t believe it’s been five years!) years later, Weekly Rewind continues to be about what’s going on with me and my blog as well as about the books I’ve added to my shelves. This post is linked to Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
My Life and Blog
Life: We just spent the last couple of days in DC. We stayed at the swanky-ass Watergate Hotel and just had the best time. Our room was amazing. We were on the 11th floor with a river view and the coolest thing happened: Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) came into the bar we were drinking in at the hotel. That’s right, I drank with the Queen of the North (Ok, ok, I drank near her. Lol). Pretty awesome. I snuck one of those “selfie” photos (it came out badly, but you can tell that it is her), but didn’t try to talk to her. She was in a Jonas Brothers hoodie and sat with a couple of women her age.
I’m in my last weekend of summer. If you listen closely, I bet you can hear me sobbing. JK.
Blog and reading: I was traveling for most of the week, so I only got my look at new book and movie releases What I’m Excited For up. I’m currently reading A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. It doesn’t come out in America until Feb, but I couldn’t wait and started it the minute I snagged it.
What I’m watching: I haven’t started it yet, but I’m dying to get started on the second season of Mindhunter. We have family in town, so I haven’t been able to get to it yet.
New Books: I have a handful of books I’m excited to share this week. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!
For Review
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
Like I said above, this doesn’t come out until Feb so I wouldn’t usually share this yet, but I’ve been dying for this book and couldn’t wait to get on it. I don’t feel guilty since it’s already out abroad. This is about a girl who is investigating a murder that occurred a few years earlier as a part of her senior capstone project. This is obviously spawned from the Serial case, but isn’t a carbon copy. I’m enjoying it.
No Judgments by Meg Cabot
I love a good Meg Cabot book. She is always good for fluffy fun.
The Tenth Girl by Sara Faring
A gothic mystery about a South American boarding school and a new teacher who is missing one of her ten students.
Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
Ooh Sansa Stark! How cool!
I like the sound of The Tenth Girl. Spooky cover too. 🙂

Sansa! That is so awesome. I wonder what brought her to DC? I hear you about summer…it goes by way too fast. I wish winter went by as quickly. Enjoy your last week!

Sounds like a cool trip and yay for Sansa. I really want to read No Judgement (since there’s a dog on the cover) and The Tenth Girl because I’m all over the word Gothic in anything.
