What I’m Excited For: Week of 7.2.19

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater each week. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

Notes From a Former Virgin by Emma Chastain

I’m so excited for this book that I actually preordered a copy–something I truly never do. I buy used books all the time and occasionally buy new paperbacks from B&N, but I rarely (read never) buy a new hard cover book. This is the third book in the Chloe Snow series. If you enjoyed the Jessica Darling series (starting with Sloppy Firsts) or the Ruby Oliver series (starting with The Boyfriend List), you need to give this series a try. I cannot wait!

Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

I haven’t yet read either of the author’s previous books (yes, I own both of them). This is about a young woman who is an apartment sitter for an exclusive high rise that may be haunted.

We Walked the Sky by Lisa Fiedler

This follows multi-generations of a family in a circus. I love this cover.

The Best Lies by Sarah Lyu

A girl’s best friend has shot her boyfriend and she needs to know why.

Whisper Network by Chandler Baker

The #metoo movement meets 9 to 5.

Symptoms of Heartbreak by Sona Charaipotra

The youngest doctor in America (16 yr) falls in love with her new patient. It looks cute.

DVD Releases

Nothing of note

Theater Releases

From the mind(s?) of the people who brought us Hereditary, this follows a group of twenty-somethings who fly to Europe and fall into the hands of a violent, pagan cult.

Spiderman: Far From Home

The chances of me seeing this in theaters is non-existent as I still haven’t seen the last Avengers movie (I know). I enjoyed the “first” Spiderman film but am kind of over Marvel at the moment. I’ll totally watch this on DVD.

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books or films?
