What I’m Excited For: Week of 5.21.19

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater each week. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

Bright Burning Stars by A.K. Smalls

I love books about dancers and was immediately struck by this beautiful cover. I hope this is good.

Missing Presumed Dead by Emma Berquist

This follows a girl who can see the when and how of a person’s death by touching them. It isn’t the most original premise, but I’m intrigued regarless (although I frankly hate this cover).

The Missing Season by Gillian French

Missing children and a old town lore monster. I’m loving this cover.

We Are the Perfect Girl by Ariel Caplan

This updated Cyrano de Bergerac story looks fluffy and fun. I’m excited for this one.

DVD Releases

Isn’t It Romantic?

I’m dying to get my hands on this Rebel Wilson vehicle about a woman who gets stuck in a PG-13 romantic comedy.

New in Theaters

Booksmart

This movie that follows two high school best friends looks so flipping good. I might break down and actually see this one in the theater…if it’s still there in like 4 weeks.

Brightburn

The premise of this is basically: What if Superman turned out to be the villain? Which is an intriguing enough premise, I guess.

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books or films?
