What I’m Excited For: Week of 4.16.19

I spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for upcoming releases in both books and movies. I’ve been wanting to create a new weekly post for Natflix&Books for awhile and decided this would be the perfect post for my movie and book blog. On Tuesdays I’ll be featuring not just what is being released into the world of books each week, but also the movies you can look forward to on both DVD and in the theater each week. (Although, to be fair, I’m going to focus on the releases that I’m personally looking forward to.) So without further ado, here’s what I’m excited for this week.

Book Releases

Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett

I honestly don’t even really care what this is about. Don’t you find the lighting of this cover so warm and inviting? (It’s about teens who work in a hotel. I’m guessing they find love.)

The Hummingbird Dagger by Cindy Astley

I can only assume this is about Jack the Ripper or something similar.

Roar by Ceclia Ahern

I’ve only been able to get through one of the author’s previous novels, but I am always interested when a well-known author puts out a collection of short stories. This one is supposed to have both a feminist and a magical realism slant. So that’s interesting.

Best.Movie.Year.Ever by Brain Raftery

Do you have any idea how many amazing movies came out in 1999? Enough to write a book about it.

DVD Releases

Glass

I’m certainly curious about this one. Unbreakable was horrible and Split was…ok. I can’t help but want awesome things from this director, but he never really pulls through (besides the Sixth Sense, obviously).

Replica

I’ve kind of decided that Keanu Reeves is just flat awesome and I’m going to watch whatever he puts out. This is about a scientist obsessed with bringing back family members who died in a car crash.

In Theaters This Week

Nothing of note.

That’s what I’m excited for this week. Are you looking forward to any of these books or films?
