The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.
Throughout my student teaching semester I was using my weekend post as a way to let people know what’s going on in my life, so I decided to rename my weekend post because this feature is more personal than just what books I’ve received. Five years later, The Weekly Rewind continues to be about what’s going on with me and my blog, as well as about the books I’ve added to my shelves. This post is linked to Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
My Life and Blog
Life: It was soooooooooo cold here early and mid-week. We weren’t quite in the polar vortex, but definitely close enough to feel the effects of it. I ended up getting an unexpected five-day weekend due to snow days (which was awesome but now I have to do some rearranging of tests, etc.). Today we spent the afternoon with friends at the casino/races. My husband and I had no luck at all, but it was still fun.
Blog and reading: I was productive on the blog this week, posting a review for The Dead Queens Club a look at book and movie releases in my weekly post: What I’m Excited For and a WoW. I finished When You Read This. which I loved, and I’m currently reading the second Popularity Papers (I’m loving this cute series) and Famous in a Small Town, which is reminding me of some of my favorite YA romances.
What I’m watching: This week I watched Venom, which was far from my favorite superhero film despite my true love for Tom Hardy. I watched the second episode of Deadly Class and am definitely into this new series. I recorded the premiere of I Am the Night but haven’t watched it yet.
New Books: Just a couple to share this week. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends.
Immoral Code by Lillian Clark
A group of teens come up with a scheme to steal money to send a friend to MIT after she’s denied student loans.
What I snagged from the library
Famous in a Small Town Emma Mills
Like I said above, this is reminding me of some of my favorite YA romances. I’m loving the writing style (this author is new to me even though I know she is much beloved–I even own one of her previous stories but just haven’t gotten to it yet) and am very much enjoying the story.
The Woman Inside by E.G. Scott
I have an arc of this but didn’t get to it in time. I’ve seen some pretty mixed reviews. Worth reading?
I watched this during one of my snow days. I liked, but didn’t love it.
Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
