Weekly Rewind

The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.

Throughout my student teaching semester I was using my weekend post as a way to let people know what’s going on in my life, so I decided to rename my weekend post because this feature is more personal than just what books I’ve received. Five years later, The Weekly Rewind continues to be about what’s going on with me and my blog, as well as about the books I’ve added to my shelves. My Life and Blog

Life: Not a whole lot going on right now. I’ve decided to drive down to KY to see family over break. I’m so ready for the two weeks I get off for winter break. The next two weeks will be long, I know, but it is really the weeks and weeks after winter break but before the spring that are the hardest for me. I’ve made some headway on my novel and finished two books this week. Overall, a pretty good one.

Blog and reading: Nothing on the blog front this week, but I have a couple of posts ready to go for next, including mini-reviews for both Nine Perfect Strangers and Paperback Crush the two books I finished this week. I’m currently reading Middle School is Worse Than Meatloaf, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Word is Murder. 

New Releases: A few pretties to share this week. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!

For Review

Slayer by Kiersten White

A girl who attends an academy to become a watch of slayers finds out that she is, herself, the last slayer ever. I have to admit that I never got into the show, but I did love the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer fiercely and have seen it a billion times. I’m cautiously optimistic for this one.

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanan

Although I still need to read these author’s collaboration, I am excited for what is one of the most anticipated thrillers of the year. I like psychological fiction that really delves into characters, and I’ll never say no to dual perspectives.

The Au Pair by Emma Rous

This sounds like an interesting psychological thrillers about deep-seeded family secrets.

What I snagged from the library

The Shark Club by Ann Kidd Taylor

Eighteen years after a woman first kissed a boy AND got bitten by a shark, she finds herself choosing between that first love and a new colleague.

Mission Impossible: Fallout

I know. I know. I just really kind of love these stupid movies.
