Weekly Rewind 12.1.18

Weekly Rewind

The new books on my shelves and my week in a nutshell.

Throughout my student teaching semester I was using my weekend post as a way to let people know what’s going on in my life, so I decided to rename my weekend post because this feature is more personal than just what books I’ve received. Five years later, The Weekly Rewind continues to be about what’s going on with me and my blog, as well as about the books I’ve added to my shelves. This post is linked to Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Life and Blog

Life: Here is a truth about me: I am naturally pretty nocturnal. During the school year, I get in the habit of (fairly) early to bed/early to rise, but if you give me more than three days off in a row, I will automatically revert to late to bed/late to rise. This full week back after break kicked my butt forward and backward AND side to side. I slept until 11 today. So tired. I’m hoping to be productive this weekend. I definitely need to get some projects graded because I promised to get them back to them early next week. I’m also hoping to get some writing down. I failed big time at NaNoWriMo this year, but I am working on something and am trying to just get out of my head and get it on paper.

Blog and reading: Nothing on the blog front. I’m still reading Paperback Crush and Nine Perfect Strangers. I will finish PC this weekend, though. I only have about 40 more pages. Nine Perfect Strangers is way slower than I wanted it to be, but I’m enjoying it for its look at characters, which is where I am most struggling right now.

New books: A tiny pile today. So without further ado, I hope you’re all having fabulous weekends!

For Review

The Similars by Rebecca Hanover

Six clones begin attending a boarding school. One of the clones has the face of the protag’s best friend. This isn’t my usual fare, but it sounds intriguing.

What I snagged from the library

Crazy Rich Asians

I actually bought a copy of this book hoping to get to it before it came out…oh, well.

Down a Dark Hall

I was actually hoping to read this before watching it, too. I’m failing at life right now.

Well that’s it for me this week. Feel free to leave a link to whatever weekend post you do (Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post, etc). I love to see what books people have recently snagged and especially enjoy hearing about my fellow bloggers’ weeks. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!

  1. The Similars was interesting, I thought. Curious to see what you’ll think of it. And Down A Dark Hall is new to me, but looks spooky fun.

I still have to get Nine Perfect strangers but I keep hearing it’s a bit slow or just okay, so I’m not in a huge hurry?

  2. Yes, I keep staying up later to get things done when I I don’t have a schedule the next day. I have Nine Perfect Strangers on audio but no idea when I can get to it. Enjoy this week! Anne – Books of My Heart
