Wanderlove by Kristen Hubbard (World Travel)
About an 18 year-old girl who signs up for a guided tour of Central America after a bad break-up. Makes you want to strap on a backpack and head out into the world on your own.
On the Road  by Jack Kerouac (American Road Trip)
The original road-trip book.
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray (Stranded on a Desert Island)
I adore this satirical book about beauty contestants stranded on a desert island.
Nantucket Blue by Leila Howard (Summer Travel)
I recently read this cute, although suprisingly deep, novel of a girl who follows her estranged best friend to Nantucket for the summer.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares (Summer Travel)
I love this series about four best friends that go their separate ways for the summer, but keep in touch through letters and by sharing a pair of magical pants.
Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot (World Travel)
One of Cabot’s quintessential character’s travels to London to be with her boyfriend for the summer only to break up with him and find herself catering weddings at a French chateau. Very cute.
With or Without You by Carol Matthews (World Travel)
A London magazine editor heads off to Nepal in an attempt to become more adventurous after her boyfriend breaks up with her.
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (Foreign Education)
Anna travels to France for her senior year of high school. One of my all-time favorite books.
The Hobbit  and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy  by J.R.R. Tolkien (Mother of all Quests)
Nobody writes a quest like Tolkien. Nobody.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen (Summer Travel)
A girl goes to live with her father for the summer in his cute beach-side town.

So those are my favorite travel books. What did you chose for your TTT? Link me up!

  3. I need to read more Sarah Dessen! Her books always look so amazing. I've heard Beauty Queens is really good too. And how did I not think to include The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in my list?! The entire series is basically set around travelling, haha!

Thanks for stopping by my top ten!

  4. Hurray, someone else who picked Beauty Queens! Hilarious book — I loved it! Big Hobbit/LOTR fan, but I didn't think to include them (big oversight!!). Really terrific list. I'm probably the only person on the planet who hasn't read Sarah Dessen, but I'll try to fix that. 🙂

  6. Ahh, the Sisterhood! I have yet to read the last two books and thought I could actually do it this summer…but now there are so many new books coming out that I want to read.Anyway, I think the Sisterhood is a very special series, since the different places are described so well that I always feel like I'm right there with the characters!

  7. I think part of the reason I struggled so much with this week's TTT is because I don't read contemporary. The only books on your list I've read are LotR and The Hobbit! Still, great list, even if I haven't read most of them 😉

  8. What cute picks! I almost went and got that Sarah Dessen book from the library today, because I'm going to be leaving for the beach tonight! (Alas, I have too many others to read!) I can't believe I forgot about adding Tolkien to my list. And I came very close to adding Anna!

Thanks for stopping by my TTT!

  11. OMG!! I couldn't resist following your page after seeing your background. I absolutely LOVE it. I am heading to London for the first time in September and can hardly wait. I have always wanted to visit. Anna and the French Kiss is one of my favorite books. I'm not sure why I didn't include it. I really like Sarah Dessen as well, but haven't read Along for the Ride yet.
