Stacking the Shelves (5)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tyngas Reviews. This meme allows us to share the books we’ve recently added to our shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! *Clicking the link of a book’s title will take you to Goodreads.

The Summer I Became a Nerd     He's Gone     All I Need
All the Summer Girls      The Book of Broken Hearts    Night School (Night School, #1)

Transparent September Girls

The Summer I Became a Nerd  by Leah Rae Miller
This showed up on Netgalley two days after its release date–which was awesome since this was high on my TBR list already.
He’s Gone by Deb Caletti
I’m excited to read what this popular YA author does with an adult novel/mystery
All I Need by Susane Colasanti
Honestly, I usually just get sucked in by this author’s covers and then feel kind of…meh about the writing, but again, this cover was so pretty I just had to have it.
All the Summer Girls by Meg Donahue
Three friends on a summer vacation at the beach. Sold!
I’m so excited for this one I featured it on my first WoW post. It sounds so good and early reviews have been pretty glowing.
Night School by CJ Doughtery
I didn’t even read the synopsis of this book. That cover is truly all it took. Serious cover love.
Transparent by Natalie Whipple
I’m kind of skeptical on this one. It’s getting some seriously mixed reviews and I don’t understand why an invisible girl would have to try to get away from anybody. Because people can’t, you know, um, see her so how could that be hard?
September Girls  by Bennett Madison
So this book is being called one of the worst books ever by some early reviewers which isn’t inspiring much hope.

What I snagged from the library
Imaginary Girls     Doll Bones      Twenty Boy Summer

Imaginary Girls  by Nova Ren Suma
I’ve eyed this cover up forever. I checked out the Playaway version.
Doll Bones by Holly Black
I don’t normally read Juvenile/MG, but this looks awesome.
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
After getting so excited about The Book of Broken Hearts I decided to look up this author’s previous work.

So what about you? What books did you add to your shelves this week? Link me up.

  1. I really must read one of Sarah Ockler's books, I've heard great things about her. I've also got CJ Daugherty's Night School series in my TBR.

I'd love to read your thoughts on The Summer I became a nerd, I've also got that in this week's STS post.

Twenty Boy Summer was a tear jerker for me hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. AH, yes, i'm hearing some really bad things about September Girls, too—and that makes me sad because I was really looking forward to that one. 😦 Night School looks awesome, and Doll Bones! I got Transparent, too, this week—looks interesting, but definitely a good point you made about it! 😀

  3. I've head that the September Girls book wasn't all that special afterall. I hope you'll like it though. Everyone has different taste and I hope I'll like it as well:-) I enjoyed Night School as a whole and the plot was good, but I hate the love triangle and after reading some spoilers for book two, I can't believe Allie forgave a certain incident and it's all forgiven in the second book and yeah.. I won't be continuing this series. Other than that, I hope you'll enjoy it as well as the rest of the books you got. Happy reading, Natalie!

  6. Don't get discouraged if you have issues with Night School! I had some too, but the second book more than made up for it. It was truly wonderful! Daugherty is an excellent writer.
And I enjoyed Transparent a lot, it really surprised me.
    Enjoy them all!

  7. I normally don't read much MG either, but I quite liked Doll Bones. It's not very memorable, but it's pretty cute and creepy, nonetheless. 🙂 I hope you like it! And I see what you mean about the cover for Night School! The UK cover is nowhere near as lovely. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it. 🙂 Enjoy!
